The rider
Raised on ponies, shaped at the Europeans.
Marten Luiten (born 2001) comes from Winschoten in the north of the Netherlands and caught the horse bug from his parents. On the pony Movie Star he won three Dutch titles in 2017. Then came the mare Fynona: between 2019 and 2024 they won thirteen European Championship medals, five of them gold, and topped the FEI World Ranking in every youth category.
Marten was named Talent of the Year by the Dutch federation (KNHS) three years running and has been part of its talent team since 2020. In 2026 he won his fourth Dutch U25 title, this time on Johnny, and with him took freestyle gold at the European U25 Championships. He also produces young horses and stallions for their owners.
“On your own you go faster, but together you go further.”
